This position has the responsibilities to coordinate all production planning activities for the nine manufacturing operations that make up the North American CAPP Division.
This individual will be responsible for the daily activities of production, inventory, warehousing and distribution for the finished products being produced in the Division’s U.
S.
plants.
The ideal candidate for this position must be an advocate for production planning best practices and standardization at the plant level.
Responsibilities and accountabilities for this Director role include but are not restricted to the following areas:
Lead, mentor and develop a Business Analyst.
Assist in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical data
Interact with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments.
Manage volume and manufacturing location changes between factories as needed to meet customer requirements
Monitor inventories of raw material, work in process, and finished good in an effort to minimize costs and achieve Division inventory goals
Oversee development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability for the Division
Train and audit plant personnel for compliance in department standards and practices
Assure inside sales and plants utilize the system through on site auditing and clear tracking metrics
Maintain accurate needs attention inventory and implement measures for improvement
Drive continuous improvement through training, tool development, and strategic planning
The ideal candidate for this role would have following competencies and attributes:
BS degree in business, logistics, operations research, or related area.
Masters is a plus
10+ years of experience in a production planning/logistics/materials handling role
Certificates in APICS, CPSM, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing are highly desired
Knowledge of IBMi/AS400 operating systems is a plus
Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office with specific emphasis on Excel, Access and Word
Ability to develop processes, train end users, and implement projects to completion
Capable of managing changing business needs and requirements
Proven record of applied critical thinking in a variety of situations, and taking calculated initiative to drive improvements
Effective oral and written communications
Demonstrated project management, time management, and organizational skills
